In this video, we’re making a 16oz frappe (what New Englanders call a hard-serve shake) using four scoops of vanilla hard-serve ice cream & four pumps of our Cotton Candy concentrated flavor extract. Though it comes with one, we removed the tilt-shield splash guard for the video, so that you’d be better able to see. We’re also using a clear Solo cup so that you can see how quickly it gets the job done, but you can continue using whatever cups your store currently uses.

How Shakes A Rama compares to other ways of making shakes
In a traditional ice cream store or restaurant setting, shakes are typically prepared by adding soft serve or scoops of hard ice cream to a stainless-steel malt cup or a blender jug, then adding milk and shake syrups, and blending the shake either on a spindle or in a commercial blender. In both cases, the process takes 30 to 45 seconds of mixing, and must then be followed by rinsing out the malt cup or blender jug between every serving. This is a noisy, time-consuming, and messy process. Shakes A Rama shakes can be blended in 8-12 seconds, directly in the cup that is handed to the customer. If 8 seconds seems like too long to wait for your shakes, or your demand is outstripping your capacity to produce, you may want to consider one of our ultra-high capacity automatic shake makers, available from our sister company. However you choose to blend your shake, our concentrated flavor extracts give you a wide variety of delicious flavors, that are actually cheaper per serving than artificial shake syrups. Traditional shake syrups come in enormous gallon jugs that take up a lot of space. Our modular rack concept of natural flavor extracts can fit virtually anywhere, and require less flavoring per shake. Traditional shake syrups dispense an ounce and a half of flavor every time you push down on the pump, and most businesses use two or three pumps per shake. A gallon jug can thus only yield about 40 shake servings. In contrast, our highly concentrated flavor extracts can yield 50% more servings from an 8oz bottle than a full gallon of traditional shake syrup can. |
